It has been a rainy day and it is getting colder as the night goes deeper. I would love to wrap myself in my blanket and have a peaceful sleep, but just like any other time, my overly active brain doesn't want to cooperate with my body. So here I am, writing the first journal I will ever write in my very own dA account. And, what topic could be more fitting as my first journal other than introducing myself?

My name is Elaine. A name given to me by my late father who died before I could even see properly`. To be honest, there's not much history behind the name, all I know is that I was named after my father's female comrade who died in a mission which her, my father and their other comrades handled.

If she hadn't died, I would've been named "Diane".

And of course, just like any other person, I have nicknames. Some nicknames are reasonable, some are strange and the others, I don't know where people got.

The normal nicknames are "Ela", "Laine", "Elle" and "Elena". My mom calls me "Elena" when she's mad at me about something.
The strange ones would be "Reng", "Kitty", "Strawberry", "Melons", "Zany".
And the others, "Nana-banana" and "Charlotte", the most popular nickname I have.

Now, why "Charlotte"?
There's a history behind it.

For some reason, some students in my school are interested in me. A junior student was asking my name around and he's not getting any answers, so he decided to ask one of my friends. Upon hearing the question, my friend immediately answered "Charlotte". Of course, the guy believed him. And so, I was known as Charlotte since then.
